Wizardly Weekend - July 19 & 20

Join us for another magical weekend in Kent! 

The Run That Shall Not Be Named

Our friends at Kent Parks & Recreation will be hosting this year’s The Run That Shall Not Be Named, ‘Follow the Spiders’ 5 3/4 K and 1 mile Fun Run! 

Starting at Fred Fuller Park, 497 Middlebury Rd., the Fun Run begins at 5:45pm and the 5 3/4 K begins at 6:00pm. 

Enjoy cake pops from Daisy Pops at the start/finish line!

Wobbly Wizard Bar Crawl

Friday, July 19 

Check in from 5-7pm at Water Street Tavern where participants will pick up event swag, crawl pass, house colored jello shot and Wizardly Weekend 2024 drawstring backpack before heading out on the town to eat, drink and explore the magic of Kent. Magical potion drinks, fun photo opps, decorations and activities will be all around town for this fun event! Sponsored by New Amsterdam Vodka.

Magical Movie Night

Friday, July 19, at dusk

Grab a blanket or lawn chairs and head to the Hometown Bank Plaza at dusk for a free outdoor showing of the movie “Matilda”! Hosted by Standing Rock Cultural Arts, this sidewalk cinema is fun for all ages. 

Par for the Curse

Saturday, July 20, noon-3pm

Join us for 9 holes of magical miniature golf! Check in at the Main Street Kent tent located at 154 N. Water St., just outside Franklin School of Dance, the first hole. Participants will receive a Wizardly Weekend 2024 drawstring bag, house colored golf ball and score card/map as they head out for an afternoon of fun. Check-in runs from noon to 3pm.

Participating businesses will have an event-themed mini golf hole to play and you can stop for magical treats and shopping along the way! Sponsored by Meijer.

Forbidden Forest – Dan Smith Community Park

Saturday, July 20

Visit the Dan Smith Community Park (E. Erie St.) throughout the day for fun costume contests! Swish & Flick will also be hosting a live podcast at 2pm.

Gringotts Plaza – Hometown Bank Plaza

Saturday, July 20

From 11am-6pm, the Hometown Bank Plaza (142 N. Water St.) will host multiple activities. Wand making with the Kent Junior Mothers, potion making with the Kent Community Time Bank, a Raptor meet & greet, face painting, and origami art!

Vendor Village

 

A vendor area will be open on Sat. July 20, 11am-6pm,
on Erie St. This is the only day/time any street will be closed for Wizardly Weekend.

 

Handmade craft vendors will line the street, offering the finest in magical wares. Check out the list of our chosen vendors!
