The fourth annual Main Street Kent Oktoberfest is scheduled for Saturday, September 23rd from 12pm – 10pm. The event will take place on Franklin Ave., from W. Main St. to W. Erie St. in downtown Kent. This section of Franklin Ave. will be closed all day for the event, and local eateries will be set up on the street, selling their specially-prepared German foods. Be prepared to make some tough choices – there will be brats, schnitzel, strudel, pierogis, soft pretzels, beer-braised sauerkraut, and plenty of seasonal beverages on hand. Two beer trucks, featuring the popular Spaten Oktoberfest and several other seasonal beers and cider, will be situated on Franklin Ave. At the event entrances, commemorative Oktoberfest beer mugs will be for sale; for $10, event-goers can purchase a mug with one beer ticket. Additional beer tickets will be available for $5 each.
